2007 PowerMoms Course Outline

The course outline for the 2007 PowerMoms Talk Series are as follows:

June 13: Introduction/Parenting Challenges Today - Why learn more about parenting? Have a vision for your family. Set your priorities.

June 27: Growing-up, the Developmental Stages of Behavior - Know the different stages of development, behavior and developmental missions: infancy, toddlers, middle childhood, adolescence, adulthood

July 11: Communication in the Family - Know the causes of communication gaps, talking turn-offs. Making communication possible

July 25: Building Self-Esteem & Positive Discipline - Children with high esteem are happy, productive and most adjusted. Know the importance of self-esteem and how to help kids develop high self-esteem.

August 8: Helping Children with Studies - Fostering love of learning, study habits.

August 22: What's Love Got to do with it? - Philosophy behind sex education and education of affections; explaining is age-appropriate language

September 8: Raising Responsible Children - Concluding session focuses on character formation: the parents' greatest legacy; aspects of character and which values are important.
